Louisiana Representative

Caroline Jurisich

Caroline Jurisich, MA serves as the Lead Program Coordinator for UL LIFE at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Prior to joining the program in 2015, she taught in the Lafayette Parish public school system in a self-contained behavioral disorders classroom. Her transition to postsecondary education began as an instructor in the UL LIFE program. While teaching the functional academics courses, she began to truly develop a passion for furthering the educational opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities.

In 2017, Caroline became the program coordinator and now leads the UL LIFE team. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from UL Lafayette and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University. Her research is heavily focused on the barriers and challenges students with intellectual disabilities and their families face as they transition to postsecondary education. Through this research Caroline hopes to provide greater access and support for students and their families.
