Vice Chair of Conference

Misty Parsley

Dr. Misty Vetter Parsley is an associate professor and the Director of Special Education Programs at Lipscomb University where she leads the graduate and undergraduate special education programs.  She also serves as the Faculty Advisor and TPSID Project Director for IDEAL, Igniting the Dream of Education and Access at Lipscomb, which she started in January 2014 for students with disabilities who would not otherwise be able to attend college.

Misty has a bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Abilene Christian University and a master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from University of Tennessee. She also has a doctorate degree in Special Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University. She has dedicated her career to students with disabilities, serving 15 years in the public schools as an autism consultant and special education coordinator. Misty’s passion is including people with disabilities in all aspects of the community and ensuring that they have the same opportunities to participate as do all other individuals. Misty and her husband Bill live outside of Nashville,TN and enjoy hiking, kayaking, camping, and traveling.
